Every so often I get a conference IM from someone, when they want to IM more than one person. These are not group IM's....just multiple avatar IM's. How the heck do ya do this? I always thought it would be very convenient to be able to IM a bunch of friends at once...but never realized there was a way to do it.
I don't think the conference IM is quite like that tho..... it seems it's more of a way to invite multiple people into a conversation. What I wish we could do is just send an IM to say....5-6 friends to either invite them to a club.....or maybe let all my gf's know at once where there's a great hair sale..... stuff like that. Anyone know why this feature isn't do'able in SL yet? (just curious about the technical side of it)

ctrl and select friends from your list then hit IM

Its easy to do. Just open your friends list, hold down your CTRL key, and click on each person you want to IM. They will highlight. When you have selected them all, click on the IM button and voila! You started a friends conference.

Second way is to hold Ctrl and select calling cards in your inventory.
Once you have a conference IM going, click the "<<" button at the top right of the window to see the list of people in the conference--you can drag calling cards into it to add more users to the conference on the fly (:

Doh!!! I have tried multi-selecting in my list but it always wants to grab names that are connected....rather than letting me skip thru the list! Now I'm gonna have to try this again LOL Thanks Jez (a year and I had no clue, boy do I feel blond....but I am blond, so it's ok lol)
