What do you do with unrequired tier?

I've sold up, tiered down and cashed out, but still have spare ("free" ) tier until August 2008 due to multiple premium accounts.

Simple question: What do I do with it?

I'm interested in all possibilities, whether charitable, profitable..whatever. It seems a shame to leave it unused for so long.

I donated mine to the Forum Cartel Hangout. We've got plenty spare but extra buffer is always nice to have.

In no particular order

1) Rent it out or donate it to someone so they don't have to go premium or tier up
2) Rent it out to the ninjas (See other thread)
3) Buy land and flip it (not advisable in the age of the landbots because profit margins are too low to make it worth your time)
4) Buy land and rent the parcels out
5) Donate it to a group like the forum cartel
6) Lower your land holding and tier down
7) Do what most people do-just let it sit there. You can consider your tier a charitable donation to LL who will turn around and invest that money in bringing us more shiny

You could always donate it to the Shelter :-) We're having people remove their tier, putting us in a bit of a jam :-(

There you go. The Shelter is a worthy group, for sure.

I have a friend who asked me about this the other day. He's looking to double his land holdings, but not weher he's living. Problem is he doesn't want to pay tier on 24 plots while he sells his existing 8 plots, so he may try to rent tier while he sells his current land.
Confused? I am.

But, hey, the Shelter sounds like a much better idea, and far less confusing for me:)

I think I'll go lie down now.

If anyone is interested in storing their extra tier in the Shelter, just send me an IM and I can get you added to our land group.

makes sense to me

he doesn't want to up his tier, so wants someone to donate or rent their tier to him

thus most likely adding tier contribution to his group, wherein he has the ability to buy the other land, keep the existing land until it sells

when he is back to owning his own tier level in land, the rented or donated tier can then be withdrawn from the group

makes total sense to me

Edited to add I am sure any business owner, who owns land on mainland would be more than happy to have tier donated, thus enabling to purchase more land, without added tier (and the prims are always helpful)

I know I would love to have someone donate tier to my group hehe
(not asking or hinting, just saying many a small business owner would definitely love it)

you can open a "flea market": and invite your noob builder friends, and sandboxers (if you know any) to come set up simple prim-vendors to sell their wares. A simple place to start is all many people need to go from "wishing" to "doing".

I've temporarily donated my tier to a friend's group in the middle of an emergency after somebody pulled theirs out, but this will only be for a few days, so I'll IM you once I've got it back. =)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm planning on taking some time out so wasn't really interested in using the tier for anything that requires me to login, but ..

/makes notes. Thanks again. (^_~)
