lol, I'm soo frustrated, I have been walking in sl for HOURS trying to find something nice to give my bf as a gift, but everyone now seems to have clothing no transfer, and why is that?

What's wrong with the no mod/no copy transfer version? And don't tell me they have gift cards, because is NOT the same, and I don't want to wait until someone answers my IMs to deliver the item I want to buy to the person I want to give the gift, it takes a long time and is NOT as personal as delivering the gift yourself, furthermore, some ppl do not accept items from strangers (I don't), and telling ahead of time the person is going to get a gift spoils the whole surprise.

Yeah, I know, I'm ranting but I'm very frustrated and I want to boycott every designer who has only a notransfer option, this is BS!!! Please someone tell me where I can find a store that sells decent looking male clothing (which is already rare in sl) and shoes that I can buy for a gift. Thanks :)

For really nice men's shoes, try Jeepers Creepers.
Blaze has nice formal and semi-formal men's clothing that is transferable. Their line of tuxedos are some of the best looking out there.

Creators can't actually win whichever permissions they decide to go with. Each time it comes up it's pretty evenly split which permissions people want and buy, the last poll here being around 40/60% with copy coming out on top.

I personally don't like buying no copy, especially with the server issues lately. Also with clothes, if you alter them to fit your av and make a mistake you don't have a back up.

There are plenty of clothes shops with transferable items, or you could buy via SLX as a gift.

People like clothing to be copiable so they can add it to multiple outfits or just have a backup in case of issues. That requires it to be no-transfer unless it's a freebie, for obvious reasons. Or the creator could make two versions with different permissions set -- and some do -- but then the creator has to manage twice as much inventory which could be really time consuming for a prolific designer.

It's frustrating for me too on the women's side because I often see things I'd like to buy for my partner, but can't. But it's not an easy problem for the designer to solve.

Because a lot of us want the ability to make multiple outfits, tinker with clothing without risk of breaking it, be able to back it up in case of loss/corruption/deletion, etc. Can't do any of that without copy/notrans

bo, if you find something you like for your bf.. just IM the creator tellinghim/her that you'd like to buy something for another avi.

i have found that most are more than willing to "send" something as a gift to another avi.

.:MIA:. (Men In Action) has lots of nice stuff and it's all transfer. I got tired of seeing my friend in a tuxedo for 4 months and went out and bought him a bunch of stuff there.
