Can you give us more detail about exactly what happened? Are you saying that when you emptied the trash folder in your inventory that all your other folder's vanished too? Or was there stuff in the trash folder that you didn't want to delete?

If the stuff was really in the trash folder, that's not good If you mean that things not in your trash disappeared when you emptied it, that's not supposed to happen. It might be there but "hiding". Ctrl-P to get into Preferences, go to the network tab, hit the clear Cache button, and restart Second Life. If you haven't had to clear you cache before, you'll want to know that it does take a while for the inventory to reload back to your viewer, so give it time to fill in. It can load a little faster if you type a few random characters into its search bar. Good luck there, I hope your important stuff wasn't really in the trash :/

if you had stuff in your trash, and deleted it, i think it's gone for good. i wuld say that you should contact LL and put in a support ticket and see if they can help you. whatever results from that, please let us here know how it ended so we can advise others in the future. good luck! sux bad!

make sure you dont have the 'recent' tab selected in your inventory. ensure you dont have a search term typed into the inventory search.

From: Nina Stepford make sure you dont have the 'recent' tab selected in your inventory. ensure you dont have a search term typed into the inventory search. I was thinking it is probably a case of accidently tabbing to recent and gone into a panic. I have done that many times before and my heart skipped a beat. The Op hasn't been back for some hours, I bet they are sat with a full inventory now.

Also check to see that you don't have filters set in a way that is excluding stuff.

I still dont really know how it happened, it was 1:30 am and that was probably why I made such a stoopid error, but I can tell you that I felt absolutely SICK and shaky for sure... I had read about clearing your cache so was trying that and also got a live chat with Lotte who gave me heaps of support whilst in the middle of a major panic attack, and the clearing cache worked for me perfectly! go Linden Lab... I do wish there was a way we could back up our inventory just to be on the safe side, but at least this is a lesson learned (the hard way).. thanks for all the help Onagh xxxxx
