Pay Jesse Malthus for money to go to his trust?

I had been away from SL and the internet for several months until 2 weeks ago. Within a day of coming back online I heard the heart wrenching news about Jesse. Someone I had spent time with in both beta and MG.

Rob Linden pointed me in the direction of the Jesse Higginbotham trust fund website @

http://jessehigginbotham.com/home.html

This is wonderful but we are on the cutting edge of technology and Jesse more then most pushed the envelope. What about an SL way to help? Most won't get out thier check books or use paypal and send a donation to the trust fund. What if Jesse's account could stay active and we could "pay" Jesse? How many people would send $L that way? I bet it could add up quickly? Guess I am getting mushy but it would be kind of like Jesse was still around in an electronic form. Kinda think it would be fitting.

Wonder if any of his bots are still wondering around any where?

I don't have much but if SL will approve it and say the money will be transfered every now and then then I pledge $L10,000.

I remember the thread a couple of months back about griefers at the memorial and bots standing vigil.

I do not have any idea the current status - Hopefully someone will.

My Condolences for the loss of your friend Jesse.

Thank you for the link. Very sad! Your suggestion is wonderful, and might keep his spirit alive in SL.

Hmm I wonder if the Lindens were controlling his bots?
Technically not sure how someone would be able to get someone else's passwords or account except his family members if he willed it but being a minor aka I had the impression he was in the teen grid he probably didn't have a will.
I am sorry Jesse died.
He sounded like a very brillant person.

It's a great idea. It would depend upon who is in control of the account, and whether there is a reasonable guarantee that the proceeds would go to the trust fund. Jesse's mom is a Resident.. don't recall her name offhand, but next time I'm in world I'll nudge her toward this thread if she's still in my friends list.

When I first heard about Jesse's accident, I was literally moved to tears. What an extraordinary kid. And when I visited his memorial in-world, and witnessed the way his friends had chosen to "stand guard" over it, in a way that could only have been done here in Second Life, I was even more moved. Thank you Rob Linden for mentioning him at SLCC, and please consider naming that award the "Jesse Malthus" award.

Life is precious, and so easily lost. Cheers Jesse, wherever you are.

Do I understand this idea correctly that a Linden Lab employee would be responsible for handing the lindens in the Jesse Malthus account, selling them for real currency and sending the proceeds to a real world trust fund?
