This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to blogs-staging.secondlife.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

blogs-staging.secondlife.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for *.uat3.hosted.jivesoftware.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

I Understand the Risks

Is this a new error or am I just not able to keep up with all of SL's various problems?

This appeared trying to access the Commerce forums.

/me uses IE and frequently gets a popup about mixed secure and unsecure content on the blogs. Maybe it's related to that?

edit: I think it's from when people post pix - like img tags here - that are http instead of https.

Telling Firefox to proceed despite the invalid security certificate is now producing

Is that url still supposed to be the staging one?

Maybe this has to do with lots of people logging it to comment on the Xstreet fees.

Experiencing the "you don't have access" on my safari browser on a Mac. Also, on the xstreet website merchants information like traffic charts I get frequent timeouts, Lindens assure me nobody else is having that problem. Oh sure.

This is not a mixed content problem, or at least not directly.

Judging from the name "blogs-staging" and the certificate info for jivesoftware.com, it sounds like jivesoftware.com has put together a beta site and deployed it under the secondlife.com domain, but continued to use their own security certificate. So naturally there's a security error if you try to establish a secure connection to secondlife.com, but its certificate belongs to some other site.

The subsequent errors sound like they realized they made a mistake by making this visible to everyone, and have stopped general access to that subweb.

Parts of the site also link to secondlife-staging.com rather than secondlife.com.

While secondlife-staging.com appears to be owned by LL a phisher could just easily fill in LL's details as well so make sure to triple check the site addie before entering your password.

I suppose this jira thread related to a security problem with the blogs is just a coincidence.

https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1379?

Doesn't make me want to use the blogs system much.
