I just decided to go with a furry avatar to try something different. I've done some searches in the client, but a majority of the places I've found have more of an "adult" theme. While I don't mind mature environments, I'm not looking for the sexually themed clubs, gay clubs, or the like. That is not meant as an insult to the gay community, it is just that what I saw when I went to a couple of those places wasn't what I was interested in. So far, I've found Linwood, which I've heard is the largest place. I also heard of Twilight Town and Lycan Woods (I think those were the names I was told). If anyone has any other suggestions for social places and/or RP settings for furry avatars, please let me know.

Luskwood is what I meant, not Linwood. I'm at work, so I didn't remember the name.

There's also the Coonspiracy (grin), but I haven't held any events there for a year. Among other things I've been waiting for the sex club to the southwest to move.

I know FurNation isn't strictly PG, but it isn't all yiff, and the people there (and at luskwood) are rather friendly sorts that will happily drop landmarks on you to places that know of. and most of the combined places, people tend to be avid profile readers, and will generally respect any "not interested in..." type statements.
I have noticed that most of the PG only places have a heavier toon element, rather than a realistic anthropomorph focus... I haven't found a really populous place for realistics and mythologicals though =/

Therianation is a good place to at least purchase realistic anthro furry avatars. I don't know about any social scene there directly, but Jakkal's Werehouse is based there, and the sim has rules about keeping it clean there. I am sure if you asked people there you could get a line on other "realistic furry" hangouts.

While not specifically "furry-themed", the Fantasy continent, including the Elven lands and the Isle of Wyrms, is furry-friendly and (mostly) PG.

Don't forget Raglan Shire. Yeh, tinies aren't the same thing, but they never griped at me for having articulated knee joints.

From: Ceera Murakami Serenity Woods has a number fo nice furries. Just watch out for the evil ones (namely me) that hang out in the sandbox.

I don't know if it is still there .. but a long long looonnnggg time ago I used to go to Furry Vermin. The real name of the place was Dragon's Roost but it is easier to find by searching for the first name. US evening hours mostly. Was a very friendly place but this was about 3 years ago so not sure anymore.

I haz a sad.
It was not a high traffic place but it was a fun, low-pressure place to be a furry without the meat-market atmosphere so common in many SL clubs, furry or not.

Sad here also Rhonda.
I spent most of my time online there for my first three years on SL. A more friendly ,helpful crew would be hard to find. They always made new folks feel at home there. Slightly crazy (in a good way) and always fun being at the Dragon's Roost/Furry Vermin. Actually...judging from other clubs I belonged to...it lasted much longer than most.
Sorry to say...but that's SL...here today,gone tomorrow. (sighs)

Yeh, I had that the time they rebuilt Sables dAlliez and split the sandbox into four parts, so you couldn't really "hang out in the sandbox" any more. The new Lost Creatures island has a single sandbox again, but I've just lost the habit of visiting there.
