Why do I sometimes get '.... all through my posts when, as far as I can see, I've done nothing different from normal?

I've seen this in others' posts, too, but it doesn't seem to happen to me. I always assumed it was an artifact of User CP / Edit Options / Message Editor Interface (very bottom) being set to something other than "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls", which is what I have.

But not sure.

Size matters. Three people and their elderly maiden aunt have whin.. been offended by sizes differing from the Management Approved Standard size. You are therefore requested to adjust your post with immediate effect, otherwise we will have no option but to relocate it to the DeviantGhetto Forum. Please send in a Support ticket requesting the link for this as obviously it cannot be shown in full view in the forum list where it might broadly offend one or two elderly maiden aunts and their lawyers. Thank you in advance for your compliance. --Apartheidi Linden.

Perhaps you are reading a post by Milla Alexandre.

I'm not sure what you mean precisely. I often see what looks like tiny dots, in orange many times, almost always in posts by Linden staff.

Reloading the page will generally turn the dots back in to normal text.

I have this happen now and then regardless if I'm home on my laptop, or at work on my PC. Haven't been able to pin down what the issue is yet. Ticks me off to.

This started happening to me when I first started using Vista. I don't know if it's related. I usually edit them out as soon as I see them.

I can also always tell when they are about to happen because hitting my Enter (or Return) while typing skips a couple of lines instead of just one in the edit window.

[Edit: of course it refuses to do it now.]

I now realize I can't tell what it is you say you are seeing. There's a blank area in the middle of your post. I thought you were saying you see teeny tiny text, letters so small they don't even look like letters, which I see at times, almost always in posts by Linden staff.

Quoting your post shows me a whole bunch of size = 2 commands, but nothing to actually be size 2 .

Are you using the guided mode or the enhanced mode? What browser? Are you using Greasemonkey and the BBcode in Text script?

I use the basic editor mode w/ Strife's BBCode repair... never seen what OP refers to... but it sounds like css failure like I get on the main pages sometimes. (css file sometimes takes to long to download so doesn't get used or gets misapplied because it's only half there?)

I don't use the greasemonkey thing most of the time and what I see in her post are what look like tags to specify the size of text. When I don't run a plug in I see those just like I see url tags around what should be a link.

LOL just checked in Mozilla with the plug-in and realized you can't even see the tags in her thread title, adding to the confusion.

I think the question Conifer is asking is what are the bracket size=2 bracket and bracket /size bracket things.
