I wonder if anyone knows how others could rez objects on NO-REZ land? I have set my land to open access, but set it to Group Rez only. I've made sure that no-one outside of our group can rez objects, thus to stop object littering.
However, I logged in this morning and found that someone had placed a voting post right by the side of our dance floor!! I checked through the group member list, but this person is not a member, I've also checked that those with different group tags were unable to rez. Well yes, I found that unless they have our group activated..they can't rez..so I'm left wondering how on earth some people can achieve this...!!
I've known this to happen on another sim, I had to report to the owner that a large prim was blocking the entrance to a photo booth and that this person was not on any of their Group lists. He replied saying that some people are able to do this,.. somehow!!
Does anyone know how I can set my land, or do something so that ONLY our group members can ever rez objects?? Please!

Is Object Entry also disabled in About Land?
And the group is not open, right, such that someone could join, rez, and leave the group?

BUT, setting a return time of "1" will return anything not group- or owner-owned after a minute. Just in case no one else comes up with a viable solution.

If Object entry is not also checked, a person can rez the item on another parcel and drag it onto yours. I recommend setting the auto-return to 1, to return non-group owned items to their owners.

Experienced the same thing when i had my land. I was so kind to give people the opportunity to be creative, as long as they cleaned up afterwards. In the end, i've got stuck with a dump. So i prohibited everything, exept flying.
People just don't have respect for other's property...

I had this problem some time ago. Someone placed a large griefing struture on vacant build-enabled land next to mine. It consisted of lots of 10x10m flat panels that were not linked but rezzed as a cluster. One of the panels was entirely on my land but I couldn't delete it. At the time my land was no-build and no object entry. I contacted LL and they sent someone down to clear the object away but it remains a mystery to me. Also, today, up the road from me, someone has rezzed a skybox at ground level on the Linden highway.

Thanks for the feed back!
Just checked and found Object Entry in About Land enabled, so I have just unchecked this, even though much of the Parcels around here have just been deleted and are now up for sale (all set to no-rez no-scripting). The Open Enrollment to the group has always been closed, so I can't see problems here. I will have to set return other peoples ojbects after "1 min", when I've made sure that items owned by group members are set to the group...
The lady who rezzed this object came back. I now understand that she made a mistake when trying to find her old friend that used to live here on the same spot. However, she didn't speak very much english and it was difficult to communicate with her, so I was unable to find out how she managed to rez an object here. I'm very certain that she would not have rezzed it on another parcel and dragged it onto mine as (again) all around here is no rez. She seems genuine enough, and don't think it was done to upset anyone. At the moment it remains a mystery.
About Linden Land, have no idea what's going on as a few weeks ago I saw a huge Pirate ship dumped onto the Linden highway near borrowdale. When someone does this, others like to come along and do the same thing and you end up with a huge object dump. A friend of ours has a small parcel of Linden Land right next door, but this didn't stop someone placing a Mega Prim on it so that it cut right through his house!!
Once again, my thanks to everyone.

I don't know if the bug has been fixed in the last year or not, but a year ago, disallowing object entry on group-owned land didn't work at all. There was a JIRA about it at the time. If it hasn't been fixed, then the voting thing could well reappear.

It would be interesting to find out if there is a way to do this by using different clients, I hear that there are lots of possibilities now that Linden codes have been released, people can mess things up as they please (sorry, I meant experiment!!). I don't know anything about these things, but perhaps it's not too difficult.

I will see if I can get this lady to visit us and do it again (after buying a language translator). ) If she can then I'll fill in a JIRA Thank you so very much!

Or you could use an alt or friend who isn't in the group and try it yourself.

Off the top of my head, sitting on an object or unlinking an object are two easy ways to bypass the setting. If you really care about preventing others' prims on your land, there are more effective solutions 1. Autoreturn (my favorite suggestion) 2. Offer no way to rez an object in the entire region 3. Banlines 4. Full parcel

From: Phil Deakins Or you could use an alt or friend who isn't in the group and try it yourself. yes we tried it, as soon as the group is activated to any other group it will not permit object rez. I'll check with JIRA as Phil Deakins suggested here, as this seems more likely to do with an ongoing voting box bug (poss).

To test object entry, you need to have a prim rezzed on another parcel and then move it onto your parcel in Edit - not try to rez it on your parcel.

Hmm, it was a long time back now and it was put into place to counteract some greifing method or another.... it's possible it's been changed back again I guess, just never heard that it had been.
