so this will be a waste of time for most of you.
a few weeks ago when i just purchased my new island parcel, i noticed one night there was a moon and stars! my land lord said that was a new implementation. it was great to see the stars twinkle off the water as i set my world to midnight a lot of time to enjoy the area.

last night, i noticed a weird dark stormy look in the sky. it was really cool, but very shortly lived. most of the "items" on my property looked like it was normal light, but the sky loomed with grey threatening clouds and stormy grey over cast with a moon hiding behind.

then it cleared and became normal night sky.
we don't get too many stormy skies where i live in RL - and this brought me right back to colorado.

thanks to whomever responsible.

Hi Nibiru,

I don't know what viewer you're using....but the regular viewer now has windlight and you can create all kinds of stormy skies with the different environment settings. You can't actually get rain or snow......but if you set your graphics properly and then go into environment editer.....you can make some beautiful skies!

I usually offer to help folks who are unfamiliar with the windlight features....but I'm moving so I'm note sure when I'll get back in world......but, I would be more than happy to help you when I'm available. Shouldn't be too long....I'll probably be back in by the weekend. :D

Well you *can* get rain with particle effects... maybe somebdy clever will come along and trigger the effects from a change in the weather...

I would like a tropical monsoon rains twice a day :)

It sounds like someone used a particle-based "weather system" in your sim. I have one that I purchased, that can make thunderstorms (complete with lightning) and snowstorms and rain. The only problem is that being particles, the snow and rain go right through walls, so it isn't very realistic if you're inside and want it to be raining or snowing outside.

It's possible though to very carefully position the weather emitters so that the rain only reaches the ground beside the buildings, but above the buildings it 'evaporates' before it reaches the roof. Tricky to set that up, however.
