Hi.
Could you please tell me why I am only allowed 25 groups? I am getting to the stage where I could have a few more after deleting ones I dont need.
Thank you.
Regards,
Robert.

Because it is the limit. Everyone shares your pain.

Hi Robert, Welcome to the forums.
It's the standard set by LL for us all (as far as I'm aware) and unless someone can say otherwise here, I don't think there's any plans to expand the number of groups an av can be a member of, anywhere in the near future. |

There's a long drawn out discussion of this on JIRA:
More than 25 groups! https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-208 The end result -- 25 is max because of database load due to the permissions system and how it ties into groups. We're not likely to see more groups until the entire group system is overhauled. I ended up shuffling some of my groups over to an alt. |

I agree that we need more group slots, but also greater central management of groups would be valuable.
The reason is that, if you have been in many social or "interest" type groups (other than those which are just groups of friends who all know each other well), you probably know that 99% of the time they are silent - probably because, everyone is waiting for somebody else to do something! But at the same time, nobody wants to leave the group, because that "something" might happen tomorrow. If it really is taking a lot of database load to hold groups then we desperately either need a secondary "interest" mechanism for dealing with these so that they don't take up database load, or to manage groups at the top level and remove these completely (although that's probably too intrusive). |

Another option to help in this problem - Go back to all the stores that you have joined the Update/Info group for and see if they are by chance now doing the Subscribe-o-matic thing. If so, join the group that way and leave the inworld group. This will free up the group slot inworld, but still let you get notices and attachments from the group.

I have the subcribe o matic and I love it
have not had any problems with it lately though groups in SL have been giving me grief so I left all the ones I do not need _____________________
