What are the different texture sizes?
I know of...
512x512
1024x124
128x128
16x16
32x32

Is there a 768x 1024?

No, there's no 768x1024. OpenGL requires that textures be measurable in powers of two on both the height and the width. 768 is not a power of two.

For a complete list, plus lots of great related information, see the sticky at the top of the texturing forum, entitled Texture Size, Pixel Counts, Video Memory, and File Formats.

For a basic summary, all powers of two between 8 and 1024 are usable. That's 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and 1024. Any of those numbers can be the height and/or the width of your texture. So you can use 8x1024 or 256x128 or 512x512 or 32x256, etc. As long as each dimension is one of those numbers, it's all good.

If you attempt to upload a texture that is not one of those sizes, SL will resize it automatically to make it work. The results of the resizing are not always pretty. For best results, always presize your textures in a good raster editor (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, GIMP, etc.) before uploading.
