Hi all,
How is it possible that someone broke my bed? I was standing right there in my house looking at a website so I didn't notice the intruder who came right into my bedroom (doors are supposed to be locked, that's another issue) walked past me, and started messing with my sexbed. I noticed it talking so I came back from the page I was browsing. I said get out, and when he didn't, I ejected him, but now my bed has script errors when clicked. I know I could probably go to the manufacturer for a replacement, but that's not really the point. How did he do this? And why won't the problem correct itself after taking the bed into inventory and putting it back down? I can't open the protected scripts to reset them. Is there a "better" bed that griefers can't break? (Not that I could afford one right now.) I talked to a pose ball maker, who was so kind, but I don't know how to add animation scripts to an object. It would be nice to just make my own so I can put down a new one whenever this happens, and put it in my store while I'm at it. It wasn't the plan, but if I have to learn it anyway, I might as well.
Any answers/advice are appreciated. Thanks

First, shut the bed down, and restart it. If it's an MLP system, click OPTIONS, and then Shutdown (twice), and then Restart. When you take it into your inventory, the scripts remain in the same state, and bringing it out again won't always help.
Script errors often occur when a person gets off a poseball in an unnatural way; e.g. ejecting someone while s/he is on the ball. In my experience, the error only occurs once.
Locking doors is not a barrier to entry, btw.

With all the mischief possible in SL, this guy walks into your house and decides to break your toys? Seems very odd. If that was a griefer, he seriously needs to get an imagination. Also likely, a lost noob wandering around, figuring any and all poseballs are public, and you kicked him out in mid-whatever. Maybe he was waiting for you to join him B.

Ditto what Phil said... if you can shut it down then do that. I had this happen and it wasn't one you could just shut off like that, so I left it and it fixed itself after the next LL rolling restart happened.

Thanks everybody. I tried the shutdown twice option, and it seems to have corrected the problem, so that's nice. This guy is not a newbie, btw, he's about to have his one year anniversary here.
Let's talk about locking doors for a second. I agree that it doesn't keep people out, so are there any options? I have seen places where you cannot use the camera angles to slide into a place and sit on a chair or whatever, your view just goes sideways so you can't "get in". I have seen other places where you can sit on an item, but then you get a message that if you don't leave in 30 seconds, you'll be banned from that place. Any info on these options?
Thanks again.

A scripted security system can be set up to forcibly remove any unauthorized person that enters its defined area of effect. The TOS reuires you to give a warning and time for them to leave (10 to 15 seconds), so you don't abruptly TP home some stranger who merely flies across a far corner of your parcel en-route to somewhere else. The only way to prevent ALL intrusion is to buy a private sim and make it not public. Then only the people on your list of allowed visitors and groups can go to or see into that sim.

security orbs

I came across a free full perms sec. orb recently that works quite well. http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=198806Simply put in your list of names and activate it. As far as trying to defeat camera junkies, good luck. When your camera is targetted to a huge transparent prim it will often temporarily behave as you described, so placing a few of these around the perimeter on phantom may help. I find that putting your private territory at the maximum altitude, combined with the security orb, while keeping mini map open or wearing a radar usually satiates even the most paranoid of poseball polishers. Other than that, just realize that someone seeing you doing the horizontal mambo isn't really that voyeuristic or exciting...

would be easy to break a Sex Gen Bed if the land its on is build.
I've accidentally broken mine many times.
Basically if it doesnt have the prims needed (2 or 3) to rezz the poseballs. It crashes.
You need to find the "Master Bed Script" in contents and reset it.

If you turn off others build and object entry
and make sure you have enough prims always before using the bed ...
then it shouldn't break.

From: Pinky Vought I have seen places where you cannot use the camera angles to slide into a place and sit on a chair or whatever, your view just goes sideways so you can't "get in". You will really want to look into the security systems already mentioned. Places like you mention are cammable too, it just takes a little bit of practice. Your bed may also have some simple access controls to allow group or owner only for the menus and pose balls, that can help in this situation.

From: Subversive Vavoom ....When your camera is targetted to a huge transparent prim it will often temporarily behave as you described, so placing a few of these around the perimeter on phantom may help.... i actually built a home out of the alpha transparent texture, placed several 5x5 transparent prims within the transparent home around the object/agent and tried the camera trick. it was nearly impossible to try and get a fix on any object/agent within the transparent home without the camera focusing on the transparent prim(s). the only way around this that i know of is by using an open source compiled viewer which has an avatar list, by simply double-clicking on an agent on the list, the camera immediately focuses on the agent. i wont identify the name of the viewer here or the transparent alpha texture asset uuid (to keep the score on both sides even), just use google and find it the way i did. google is your best friend.

Don't worry!
The script errors are the bed trying to stop an animation on an av that's no longer there. It will recover.
(If it doesn't, the script is a worthless piece of junk. But most likely it will.)

Also note that these beds often come with their own permissions systems (all, owner, group). If you own the land and it's set to a group, make it so that only people with the group tag are ball users/menu operators.
