This may be simple but I seem to be standing above the ground and I am not flying. I am i would say atleast a half meter off the ground standing, walking, or sitting. Can anyone throw a suggestion my way?

If you are using an AO, try deactivatig that. The animation may place you above ground.

Sometimes I get this, and flying up a little before landing usually sorts it. Other types of stuck animation need me to go in & out of Edit Appearance. As already mentioned, toggling AOs can work too. Usually a relog isn't necessary, but try it if all else fails.
edit: I see relogging didn't help, sorry.
