:p

Well...not actually missing....just apparently unavailable. I often don't even hit play on my music tab in-world because I'm either listening to something on TV (yeah...I'm an audio learner so I'll lsiten to the discovery or science channel while I'm in SL lol)
But....I noticed earlier today that my music buttons were grayed out. I double checked my preferences.....and that I had a stream listed in my land.........all was as it should be....But....I can't actually 'play' any music.

In fact...I can't play music anywhere I go......and yes.....yes yes....my music streaming IS enabled .... it's just oddly borked. And no, it isn't musted either lol

Anyone ever have this happen....or know of any reason why it would, besides the obvious??

What version viewer are you using?

What operating system?

You could try installing the latest version of quicktime or reinstalling quicktime if you already have the latest version.

I get the same effect when using the current viewer. Instead, I normally use the latest RC and I have no problems with audio streams.

This was one of many troubles I had last week when logging in at home, along with not being able to TP, not being able to connect to voice, and not being able to see adjacent sims. It all cleared up when I got the sim restarted, cleared my cache and reset my home location. You might try logging in at some other location and see if your music works. If so, this is a dead giveaway that it's your sim.

Thanks guys...

I'm using the current regular viewer....... never had this issue before....but I have cleared cache....and have had to log in at other locations simply because my home region was 'unavailable' at the time........but nothing has changed. Maybe it's quicktime...not sure.

As far as my system....Dell XPS410 with 2g memory and an nVidia8800 g-card....graphics are great. I have cable internet too...so that flies along just fine...... dunno.....Perhaps I'll try the RC...haven't bothered with any RC's since windlight became mainstream

When this occurs, check your menu bar for the parcel name. This was happening quite a bit where the parcel name didn't display (or the name of the previous parcel prior to TP to a new location). A relog fixed it sometimes, however, multiple relogs were required. A mainland sim restart yesterday evening seemed to help so far, but I haven't TPd in and out much to test.

 Well..it's back apparently. I was on a little earlier and saw that my music play arrow was once again highlighted.....and it worked fine. But.....the last week has been so twitchy glitchy that nothing really surprises me at this point. :p

This happened five days ago when I returned to the hangout. Both Rioko and I could still hear the rather nice Grendel's music stream, instead of whatever was playing at the hangout. I only later noticed that it said that I was at Allana (some numbers, I think correct for the hangout) and then - Grendel's . . . something something (as in Allana (123, 45, 67) - Grendel's Children).
