The lack of sound in this release is a bit of a showstopper, but once they get that sorted out, it looks set to become my main viewer.
This release is largely laying the groundwork for the project, getting code and build environments ready, so there are no *huge* leaps in it, but there *are* some nice touches and some bug fixes. Things like teleporting people straight from the IM window, or being able to dimple prims without turning them into spheres and back are not rocket science, but damn, they are nice once you have them! |

Hmm... I like the looks of that one, yes. But the lack of sound is a showstopper, as Tali said.
Anything that makes building less frustrating is a good thing! All we need is a "Log Out to Log in Screen" and this might just be the only viewer for me. _____________________

I never use sound when I sneak in from work, so I tried it out this morning. It ran very smoothly. The different font they use is a real treat on the eyes compared to the SL fonts. I also noticed textures loading much faster than they do with SL's latest viewers.
When they get sound working, this one will be a serious competitor, and something I'll probably be using as my main viewer at home. I didn't have time to test it too thoroughly but everything I did try, worked well. -Atashi _____________________

According to Jacek, "Having the grid login selection box visible was unintentional on our part. [...] We'll be hiding that again until we add back in proper grid selection support (including custom / third-party grids). When we do that, we'll be sure to use meaningful labels for the various SL grids.  " |

Extremely happy about that, so will now stop using the Open Life Grid viewer. I now need to find out if this new viewer has or hasn't the Nvidia Driver incompabilty fault. _____________________

Hmm.. I like it well enough. I'm not exactly crazy about the font, myself. Also, noticed an annoying secondary window that loads up and stays... Really not crazy about that.

I really like the Hippo viewer, from which you can travel to SL, OpenLife, OpenSim, 3rd Rock, in fact almost any grid you fancy.
You can build up to 10,000m, you get 45,000 prims (not in SL, where the 15,000 restriction still holds), you get the ability to create megaprims as standard, and in the build tools you can also create grass, plants, shrubs and trees in addition to the standard prim set. Rock |

Think it might be ok with the Nvidia drivers, did not have to do that Advanced menu fiddle. _____________________
