That is the way it is supposed to work. If you aren't actually using SL, why should you be taking up server resources and bandwidth?

my friend wants to do camping and stuff and he gets logged out too-that is why he needs it more than 1/2 an hour.

How do I get to client? I used to know where to see it before they made changes- but now I am not sure. Thank you so much!

It's under Advanced now. But the setting there doesn't prevent you from being timed out, it just turns off the slumped animation.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Monjolichat,
'Client' and 'Server' menus have now been merged into 'Advanced'. You still get to them by ctrl/alt/D. Under the 'Character' heading select 'Character Tests' and then deslect so that there's no X against 'Go Away/AFK when Idle'. That lets you stay as long as you can afford to keep the pc running. I believe, though, that if you minimise SL to the bar at the bottom of your Windows screen that overrides the setting and you will be logged off.
Go camp!

Can't you just open the window and move your mouse every 28 minutes? Seems like y'all are making it more difficult than it has to be...

True unless you are using a Nicholaz client. With his viewers, once you uncheck the AFK test, you stay logged in even if minimized. (Nice because the client uses a lot less CPU when minimized).
