Best Locations to meet people

Hey all

Could anyone point me to the best locations to meet people?
It seems the main welcome zone is not anymore the regular hangout.

I am looking to make friends, girlfriends and such

It really depends on our interests.

Come up with 3 lists of 3s:

1. 3 things you like and want to pursue.
2. 3 things you've always been afraid to try.
3. 3 things you're certain you want nothing to do with.

Now just search events, places, and groups based on the first two lists, and filtering out things that come back with some aspect of the third list.

I could send you to dance clubs, builder clubs, new citizen hangouts, live music, education, roleplay, or whatever - but even among those... there are differences. What kind of music? What kind of roleplay, and so on...

The forum Cartel Hangout is a good place. Tell them Jig sent yoiu and they will all start feeling sorrry for you and make a fuss over you.

Other great places are sex animation stores (just invite someone to "test" an animation, beaches and scan for groups in the search categories that are of your interest. I also liek teh "drop-in" technique. Just TP your self to a green dot. I met many people that way.

And dont be shy. Just walk up to peopel and introduce yourself. This is sl after all and what have you got to lose?

No. Because not everyone has identical interests.

The welcome areas are still pretty good for finding random people not doing anything in particular.

For random people who are just there and may or may not have anything in common with you:

Welcome areas

NCI classes (well they will have that in common, and this is a caliber above the welcome areas)

Moose Beach (no idea why this info hub is so popular, but it is.)

Sexy Nude Beach (I'm not kidding... really... go there, you're supposed to be nude, but usually I'm the only one who is - and its the most crowded -and- chatty place I've ever found in SL)

the shelter (not so crowded, but themed for newbies, which makes it also ideal for a returner)

Oritz (this is the info-hub to the adult continent. I have no idea how chatty it is, but it is always stacked with green dots).

The rest of mine are really women only hangouts, or otherwise themed rather than general. Finding your theme and finding it fast will do you the most good.

Search for me on music and dance does turn up a lot of ballrooms - which might be good as I noticed in another thread that you're a classical piano player. People who like ballrooms and even people who like jazz might also be interested in your style of music. My problem here is that I'm looking for reggae, salsa, or even mariachi... but for you the search results I get should be ideal.
