Gigantic Ball With Profile

I had something happen yesterday that was bizarre. I was on my land moving around a prim when all of a sudden a gigantic sphere appeared completely over my property, with half the sphere embedded in the ground. Thinking this was a griefer attack, I clicked on the sphere and it was not a prim but an avatar. The sphere had a profile. I muted the person and the sphere disappeared. I next banned the person from my land.

How can a giant sphere be a person? It was definitely a mega sphere.

Just before you eject him, say "See you 'round."

Sphere with no Tag
10-16-2008 06:36
Tundra when you first saw the sphere did the tag show? Sunday morning an invisable sphere landed on my place and there was no tag showing. I knew someone was there because of my Mysti. The only reason I saw it was because it moved between me and some sculptie leaves on the ground. I could see the outline of the sphere against the horizion so I followed it as it moved behind me. Then the thing sat on my roof. I didn't orbit or eject because I was curious as to how someone could hide their tag. So I told this person to show theirself and eventually they did. I tried to steer the conversation in the direction of getting an answer to the tag curiosity but all they would elude to was that it was a business secret and that spying in SL is big business. So I wonder if anyone else has seen someone (or not) that could or did hide their tag? If this person had been in a place with several avatars I probably wouldn't have noticed anything at all and their spying or eavesdropping would have been successful. I feel this person is heading in the direction of TOS violation.

You can hide your tag with the right size and arrangement of prims. Doesn't even need to be invisiprims.

Tags seem to be at a set height linked to avatar. It can raise or lower, but linked to avatar position, central point, or something like that. Anchoring point.

Huh, they consider THAT spying? Good grief, it's hard to spy when Mystitool shows them quite clearly. Next time simply say, "Peekaboo, I see you!"

Me thinks stealthy kitteh isn't so stealthy.

Well, Lindens can flip a switch, or something, and not turn up on radar. I've seen some that do, and some that do not show up on radar. Now couple that with an invisible avatar and . . well . . .

heh

I've heard that a rolling avatar gathers no moss.

I didn't see a tag, which made me wonder what the deal was. This was a huge wood texture prim that took up roughly 2000m.
