Is there a log of text conversations?

I was just wondering the other day if there is a log kept of any text conversations you have in SL.
If there is, where can I find it?
Is it on my PC, or is it on the servers?

Thanks

Examine your settings in Edit / Preferences / Communication; "Log Instant Messages" and "Log Chat" are options for recording those things to your local disk, and the "Change Path" button sets where they'll be stored.

(There may or may not be server-side retention of chat and IM, too, but if so, it's for Linden use.)

If you have chat logging on (which I think it is by default) you'll have them.

On my Windows XP box, they are stored in:

c:\Documents and Settings\my_windows_username\Application Data\SecondLife\my_secondlife_username\

They are all *.txt files.

chat.txt is the public chat and I just noticed that mine is now around 30 MB... =)
