Trick to get avatars out of a photo

I'm at an art installation, taking photos like a wild thing, but I keep getting in the frame. I know there is a trick to remove my avi from the scene before I shoot, but I can't remember what it is...

Can anyone help me?

Thankee thankee!

dunno any other trick than moving the camera...mouselook doesn't show the avvie, but it can be hard to get a good piccie with it. maybe try standing further away and alt-click then move your mouse to move the camera? usually works for me.

Thanks, Claire. I've been doing that, but the art piece I'm trying to capture is massive---the size of a whole sim, and its hard to maneuver myself out of the frame. I think there is something you can do, coz Skell told me last night, but I wasn't paying enough attention...

If anyone needs to have their brain explode (and, indeed, who doesn't?), let me wholeheartedly recommend Eshi Otawara's One Hour Sim today. As I understand it, that art will only be there until 3PM, so don't dawdle...

It is transcendent.

You're stuck outworld, aren't you? OK, I'll try, but I'm not capturing it, much as I want to... My skills are not enough. If anyone can get inworld to see it, they should, because its multidimensional, and isn't really translating to film. And it is worth seeing.

But I'll try, Claire ...

I'm not in world to check this exactly ... but under Advanced - Rendering - Render Types uncheck Charactors ..... it's something similar to that..

Then all AVs will 'disappear' .. including you :)

The shortcut is ctrl-alt-shift-4 if you're on a PC.....

Here you go, Claire. It doesn't even approach the reality, though.... :(

I told you this one already ;)

/me grins. Like I said, I wish it worked in RL. I've been to some beautiful places, and wish I could have removed the tourists from the photos I took.

Hey, I was overwhelmed by the art....! :)

Skell, you have to see this new installation before she changes it this afternoon. It's even better than the Mozart!

I've just been, and taken about 1000 snapshots. Absolutely gorgeous. I was crawling all over it!

I have one in return for you. More art than you can shake a stick at. You'll need to fly all around this place to look at the various exhibits, and when you're done, head straight down the centre to the ground, and you'll find AM Radio's (of The Far Away) latest installation: Husk -

Edit: My attempt to capture the One Hour Sim today:

A tripod, a series of pictures and 15 minutes in photoshop should do that.

Yeah, maybe position your av behind something first, then alt-click the center of what you want to photo and pan away. Have to do it all the time when choosing the best picture to put in the land choices.
