Did anyone else wake up to new protected oceans?

The oceans around Nautilus are now truly "Protected" and labeled as such, and have autoreturn set to 5 minutes. I now feel like a proud new daddy of the sims "Bleacher" and "Heckerman."

This alleviates a lot of arguments about what is protected or not, and also makes for a clear validation of the description "Protected" for land sellers and purchasers.

Thanks Lindens! I'm 0.5% less mad about ad farms right now!

It always hurts my head when they do something that actually makes sense and benefits the users of their world. This is great news.

It's a wonderful feeling, isnt it? I've been waking up at the end of the known universe for almost a year now. With luck, it will be quite a bit longer before the Lindens notice that their map stops at my sim.

Back in late August or early September, Jack Linden commented in the blog that they were getting ready to clean up the status of the water sims in Corsica - like 'soon'.
There's a mixture of unnamed Protected, named Empty, unnamed Empty sims scattered about.
It's cheering to hear that they have eventually done something somewhere.

Not exactly, you can see some plots for sale in edge of sims that says "Protected Waterfront" and you have a full ground sim in front.

Kahiro,

I was pointing out the positive side of the issue: sellers that really are on a protected waterfront can say so and prove it, and buyers can easily validate it.

Yes, there are probably 1000s of plots out there for sale that say "protected waterfront" and shouldn't.

This is good news!

The "protected waterfront" scam was one of my first SL shocks. Went to about 10 different parcels with that false label and thought "Wow, why don't they stop people from false advertising?".

Of course, it wasn't long until I figured out that they don't enforce much of anything. One of the sad parts of SL.
