I went to a sim and during my visit my feet started to emit some sort of particle (only I can see this no one else)
I teleported home thinking I had been infected maybe, it didn't fix the problem.
Symptoms:
*When I arrived at home(or any sim) about 40 red/transparent cone shaped particles elevate up in the air from myself. Then a few blue/transparent cone shaped particles elevate off my boots.
*I look in the distance as I enter Sim , every object and tree has a single red cone shape rising from it like a particle then disappears, all the vendor boards I see will emite this red particle, I see a bike drive past and it has half a hundred of these Blue cone shaped particles rising from it.
*Various red/blue combinations coming from scripted and non-scripted objects, a few seconds apart, sometimes relating to movement then ceasing after the movement stops, sometimes not relating to movement.
*When an object is deleted or detached I see a bunch of GREEN cone shapes rising from what was deleted or detached, the only time I see green (before was red/blue)
What I have Tried (and it did not help):
*I have tried restarting SL
*I have detached all HUD elements, clothing, hair and attachments
*I have selected and unselected everything in every menu, especially the beacons section.
*I have cleared SL cache.
*I have shutdown my computer completly and turned it back on.
*I have re-installed SL.
I still see these blue and red transparent cones rising from myself and no one else can see it, I cannot right click on the object to see owner, it does not exist.

Do you have the Client menu up top? If not, use Ctrl-Alt-d to bring it up, then make sure 'Show Updates' isn't checked. Alternatively, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-u will toggle it on and off.

Having you tried scanning - with something like Scan-foo - for objects not owned by you?

I'm almost positive 'Show Updates' is toggled on. I just double checked it and the result looks exactly like your pic.

I think Ann's right....I had that happen to me once and I could not get rid of it to save my life. I tp'd to help island and a mentor told me how to get rid of it by turning off show updates in the client menu. I had accidentally turned it on by pressing a ctrl+alt shortcut.

Just confirming... absolutely Ann is right. There is no question about it, the picture clearly shows the "Show Updates" colored poofs.
