hey all, anyone else have questions as to why the "recent items" tab in inventory now has recent items from at least the last 2 to 3 weeks, and not just "since logoff". It's a pain in the arse. Can or will LL bring back the old way??????

I'm having the same problem and just heard about this:

on Jira posted by randal kline

"Click Recent Items
Click File -> Reset Filters -> Show Filters
Relog"

then click File -> Show filters

then put a time of 1 hour in the box at the bottom

I won't be able to try it until later, so I'm not sure if it works.

Works great actually! As long as the settings stick :D

Thanks.

I use the "Since Logoff" instead of time. It doesn't seem to stick.

It's one of those "not a bug but a new feature" things. I'm quite happy about it as I don't lose my recent items after just one log off....

I made the mistake of deleteing over 200 items thinking that they would still be in the 'all items' folder.. needless to say they weren't and i lost a ton of my stuff.

Just bumping this as reminder to myself how to fix the reccent problem and see if anyone has success with this feature.
I forgot how to do it. Select reccent or something. LOL

bumping this post to ask a question and as reminder and thank you.
One thing about this feature is no matter how many times I do it I have to repeat because it doesn't stay set.
Does anyone else know what I am talking about and why this is happening with this feature?
It doesn't seem to be working for me.
I wonder what I am doing wrong.
I did the following
"Click Recent Items
Click File -> Reset Filters -> Show Filters
Relog"

then click File -> Show filters

then put a time of 1 hour in the box at the bottom
I even few times selected only certain files and different time.

Hi FD <wave>
No, you're not doing anything wrong - I repeatedly have to reset my filters and put a day in. It's not a huge pain - I usually do it while I'm waiting for the greyness to go ;)

using version 1.18.2 (0) here:

- goto your Recent Items tab
- goto File -> Show Filters
- select whatever you wanted (usually just tick the Since Logoff or [n] Days Ago)
- click Close not the X at the top

This is just another of the many broken things in sl. Recent items is now useless as it's just putting up the same exact items as your regular inventory.

Same when you go to appearance, you don't turn all the way around therefore causing you not to be able to do anything with your appearance.

By experience, I figured maybe in about 2 yrs they will get around to trying to fix one of these 2 issues. Notice I said "trying" as by experience we also know that because they try doesn't necessarily mean they will fix it as it's the case in just about everything else they try fixing in sl, most times it remains broke.

You got to love the tech team in sl. They're such experts and care so much about keeping the game running smooth.

Good advice. Unfortunately, this doesn't work either.

Actually what I do is use the camera controls and move the camera while I am in appearance.
It is annoying though.
I didn't do the voice update.
But I don't see the recent changing back to way they are when I did the recommend setting nor does it seem to work.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong. It doesn't stay set when I log out either which I find annoying.

wow thanks all this time i have had my recent inventory all full to and so many said is a SL bug, you have to clear the SL clipboard on computer or something, yet on Vista i cant seem to find it lol this worked well all i did was click inventory-recent-show filters-then made a 1 in the box at bottom for hours ago. All the stuff was gone! If i click reset filters it all comes back haven't tried to relog yet to see if it stays like this hope it does
