How do I crouch? I mean, is there a keyboard shortcut for this otherwise apparently useless animation and its relative, the crouch walk?

While I'm at it: are keyboard shortcuts for the SL client listed anywhere?

/me flashes back to Heretic II crouch and roll..
soryy- no clue- but I wd imagine it would be an animation you wd need to add to an AO or Play in World.

Is crouch what happens when you're just standing and you hit the down arrow? Crouch walk I have no idea but, like you, I've always wondered about it when I run through some animations at a vendor.

I believe if you press pg dn while you walk forward using the arrow key, you will crouch. The drawback is you have to keep pressing the pg dn so you are using two hands.

Got it: 'Page Down' crouches and 'Page Down + Arrow' crouch walks.

I can't believe it has taken me the best part of twenty months to ask about this. I've always associated the Page Down key with descending flight and never thought to check its purpose on solid ground.

It's quite beside the point, but I have to add that Ee Maculate is one of the funniest and best names I've seen yet.

I only discovered it very recently. It's useful for getting off 4-poster beds that have been made too low to walk off, and the ceiling prevents flying up and off - not that I've needed to do that recently.

Ephraim Kappler roars laughing.

Funnily enough I felt the need to crouch for similar reasons recently, so I thought it best to inquire for future reference.

Don't worry about, Babybear. I do a very nice course in getting on and off canopy beds. I'll book you in for a session :D

I use PgDn + the arrow keys to sneak around, because I am a sneaky siamese ;)
