Odd that sims can be rated "Parental Guidance" (PG) yet no one under 18 is even allowed onto the Grid.

What should this rating really be called?

would you rather they classified it as immature?

heh I think the PG rating is fine... it just means keep it clean

being we have such a varied userbase, one should understand that some folks do not want to be in adult themed places

Everything you say is correct but I think you missed the irony of the original post. :)

..... and as you are supposed to tick a box even if it is a 'Mature' parcel to indicate Mature content this makes even less sense .... I suggest renaming the categories to EB (Enid Blyton) and ED (Richard Desmond) or for our old colonies across the pond I suppose we could use DS (Dr Seuss) and HH (Hugh Hefner)

'PG' : 'Safe for Work'

Think "OK to put up on a projector display during a meeting/presentation at your workplace".

'Mature' - 'May not be safe for work' :)

Desmond's Devil's Dictionary:

A "PG" region is a region where underage residents feel safe meeting their parents, because the 'ick' factor of finding Mom branded, nakie and servile in her online buddy's gorean castle is just too gross for words.

Call them Salem Sims - you can be burnt as a witch if you don't subscribe to puritan values.

For my fellow USA folks;

Republican = PG
Democrat = Mature

How about we rename in 'puritan' land? or 'conservative' land?

Resident1: Hey I just bought a house!

Resident2: Great! Now I can give you this old sex bed that I have.

Resdient1: Uhm hold on it's on puritan land.

Resdient2: Too bad!

And I agree that PG shouldn't be used.I mean it brings the image of an adult who still has their parents looking after them while they visit certain regions of SL. The opposite of mature is immature of course. You wouldn't want to be known as an immature adult who still needs parental guidance.

They can color code them red and blue on the map as well. That way you won't accidentally stumble into a Gorean orgy if you are PG inclined.

Where all the dirty stuff is hidden behind closed blinds. I like that idea.
