STUPID STUPID ME. I knew it, the Second my finger clicked it to see what kind of effect or item it was , I instantly regretted it.
Not that its all bad in looks but its stuck between floors and is invadeing the whole place.
it was a stupid freebie fogger 5000 or such item. Even as I went to drag it out I said - self- go outside on the ground. But I didtn listen and now I have fog all over my new office area. Ugh.
I pulled the floors up to find it and tried control alt -t but still couldnt see a thing, (it works alright Nice effect, wrong place.)
If anyone has a word on locating and killing this little beastie, it would be of great help. I know its gotta have soem sort of emittor but how do I find it and delete it? Thanks Ciera Spyker

Maybe it's too buried under the land for even the ct, alt, t to pick up so can you lower the land and then try.
Must say done it myself and each time you wonder "Why the F*CK do I never learn"!!!!

I IM'ed but you're offline . * turn on Highlight Transparent (Ctrl-Alt-T) * View / Beacons (uncheck everything before the separator but check "Particles Sources" * View / Beacons (check Render Highlights, Render Beacons and Hide Particles) * View / Beacons Always On (Ctrl-N) The particle source should be "easy" to find now (it'll likely be a completely transparent small sphere so you might need to cam around to find it) Once you found it: * turn off Highlight Transparent (Ctrl-Alt-T) * uncheck View / Beacons Always On (Ctrl-N) * uncheck View / Beacons / Hide Particles (You could use Advanced / Rendering / Hide Selected as well to selectively hide prims to help you look, but it probably just rez on the floor rather than inside of it, don't forget to uncheck this once you're done )

Also may be helpful: View / Beacons / Particle Sources and View / Beacons Always On. If this was a script instead of a prim, then it could be the floor itself emitting the particles, in which case you need to lose that script and temporarily run a "scrubber" script, something like: default { state_entry() { llParticleSystem([]); } } [Edit: Kitty already suggested the Beacons thing while I was distracted. ]

I had a tiny invisible prim that threw out particles once, they even became embedded in the linden sand, the main problem was that they moved, I spent hours trying to work out where they would be on the screen as i clicked with edit, this was before i knew how to select only my objects and how to make invisible show up on the viewer.

Another would be to check objects on the about land (if it's your land) and SHOW. Sometimes that's helped me find those pesky hiding oopsies.
