Hello all Got another question... I own a small nightclub and I'd like to host events with a live DJ but I''m exactly sure what "equipment" I need. I've been to numerous other clubs and I've noticed some of them had an item called Shoutcast. Is this important? Is this something that will allow a DJ to broadcast in my club or do they provide that themselves. It's all a little confusing to me. I already have a "jukebox" programmed with stations that pipe in music but I'd like to know if I need a special item or scripting for DJ's. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I'm a DJ and I find that all clubs are different...Some have a radio on their land they can use to change the stream with, and some just let the DJ have access to the media tab in about land to change the stream. Most have their own stream to use but some require the DJ to have their own. You don't "have" to have any special equipment though.
You should be able to set the jukebox so it can tune into the "station" the DJ is using for their stream. Really that is all you need..

Thanks for your time. Raster Radios sells a small triangle that is a stream radio ($280L). Thsi radio works with touch and voice commands. You can add your address to your Shoutcast Stream (or the DJs stream) and add your name and the DJs name to the radio's access list. This way the DJ can change the channel even when you are not available and also turn the radio back on when he is done DJing. Shoutcast streams range in price. The low bandwidth ones (64kbs) for 50 Listeners could cost you about 1800L a month. The better quality streams at 128 kbs could cost you abour 2600L a month. Just serach 'shoutcast' in the classified section and shop for the deal that suits your needs and your budget.

Out of curiosity, would someone be able to use something like... Jetcast to provide music?
