You can buy tv receivers that are preloaded. I have one from@home tat has a pretty decent selection of channels, including lots of cheesy old sci fi movies.

Freeview is a free streaming video player.

You can grab a copy at Crystalshard Foo's shop.

Is there a way to make the TV play videos you load in yourself. Like .swf files or .mpg?

You'd have to set up a server to stream them from.

They must be in .mov format. Then you must upload to a service that won't convert your video to another format. I use blip.tv, which allows you to set your preferences so that the original format is maintained. Once uploaded, the service will show you the URL to use.

I love my tv. It plays preloaded music videos and lots of old movies and cartoons. I am getting the dreaded blue "Q" which I'm guessing from reading above means that there is a new version of Quicktime I need to grab.

I can't seem to get these to work anymore for my tenants. Is it because of the RC viewer?

The TV seems to be responding to our commands, but the viewer's play button is just always grayed out.
