Hello,

So glad I decided to buy a little money for SL cause now I can read the forums. And I am learning quite a bit here. Didn't know about classes and I took my first one the other nite.

But I have a question..... Where is a good sandbox that I can go to open my boxes and try clothes on and to also see what are in the other boxes lol? I am trying to get my inventory organized think I have a handle on how I want to do it but need a quiet place to do it.

I did search for sandboxes but all I did was get confused. Went to a few and didn't know where to go after that.

I know down the road I might buy a piece of land but for now would just like to do well basic stuff like change clothes and practice what I learn in the classes.

If you can decipher what I am asking I would greatly appreciate any answers.

There are public and private sandboxes.

My two favorites are Heron Island and Skybeam, both are well maintained and monitored.

Best advice it to read the notecards and rules. Ask local monitors for help and find an open spot to set up you items.

I have a land mark for a good sandbox the provides training bill boards for new builders. I can't remember the name but I'll check tonight when I go Inworld.

I recommend NCI. They have a sandbox, changing rooms, How to Classes, and Freebies.

Also you can join our Group, the Forum Cartel. We have group land where you can open boxes, we have a skybox for changing clothes, you can even set your home login point there. Welcome the the Forum.

Hi Bec

My two favorites are Mauve and Scarlet Mirage. Although Mauve can get quite busy at times in my experience. When I want a larger space to work within and a little more quiet, I go to Scarlet Mirage 128.127.24 Most of the times I've frequented it, I've found it empty.

Hope this helps and Welcome.

To go to these places Bec, for instance 'Scarlet Mirage 128.127.24' open up the map at the bottom of the page on the viewer, type in Scarlet Mirage about halfway down on the right hand side then further down in co-ordinates type in the 3 sets of numbers 128, 127, 24 then click teleport

For getting to places like NCI and the Cartel Forum, the easiest method is to type these into search, I assume both places should come quiet close to the top in the results if indeed not the top.

Thank you for the advise and places given. I will check them out when I get home from work.

Maybe soon I will know enough to get my own land just to have a place I can call my own lol.

If you're playing in a sandbox and want privacy, a good trick is to make a build floor and move it up to some high altitude..
- create a cube, leave the editor open
- sit on the cube
- make the X and Y scales to be 10.0
- set the Z position to be 500
- stand up!

You'll end up at 500m, standing on a 10x10 floor.

I too was going to reccomend the first 2 sugestions.

Good places, well monitered so few Griefer attacks, Freebies for builders and People seem to be willing to offer help. The changing rooms at the second one is very handy for clothes trying on.

I want to say Bec, Welcome to SL and to the forums! The people here are very helpful and all their suggestions are good. The Forum hangout is a fun place; I just wish I had more time to go there! Hope to meet you there sometime.
