During my n00bage I tried on lots of freebie clothiing, as most of us do. Often the clothing wouldnt' rez correctly, and shirts would color my entire arm including hands. Ditto the pants - would cover my shoes no matter how I adjusted them in 'appearance'. I thought this was just poor scripting, and I discarded any clothing item when it rezzed that way. I only kept things that rezzed so that my hands/feet showed normally. Sometimes this was disappointing , because the item would be otherwise desireable but for those stupid colored hands ... *sigh* More recently I've found some much more costly clothing that acts the same way. I have also learned that others don't always see my Avi the same way it appears in my viewer (which is just one of those lovely bits that keeps SLife interesting, isnt' it?) So ... did I throw away a lot of useable clothes? Is it the shirt's fault when my hands are shirt-color? Or is it .. just .. me? ... 'cause if it' sjust me I've thrown out some good stuff.

I've never, ever had my hands turn the same color as my shirt, so if I had to guess, yes, it's not the shirt, it's something up with your computer.

It does happen with all of my Alts, which would support your idea.

Hiya Drivin! Like Raymond, I've never had hands and feet adopt the clothing cover except in the lag to rezzing ... and this can take a while. What is more disconcerting is how these textures can kind of 'fall out' and rerezz .. and rerezz ..

Its always nice to see the colour 'ecru' make an appearance.
Have your hands ever turned 'magenta' or 'duck egg'?

Even _more_ disconcerting would be if the shirt turned the colour of the hands I've had a top I made completely refuse to rez after wearing it successfully a few times. Had to create a new one. (Thankfully found out about this while getting changed at home) As to the OP: if other people don't see the same thing, I'd guess it was your system maybe telling you to wash your hands more often mornin' all

graphics card...

Because of the way SL renders your avatar (simply put, it actually takes place on your own computer and the flattened image is sent to SL) I'd imagine it might be worth taking a look at your graphics card. Did you check the system requirements before starting SL? There is a list of supported and unsupported graphics cards and quite often this is the issue. The biggest culprits were always Intel, SiS & S3 chipsets. But there are many listed as unsupported. Take a look here (if you haven't already): http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php~B

From: Sandy Carver Hi Blibo!
Did you ever grow crystals on a piece of string too? Not personally Dan but oversaw others doing it. We got a Chrome Alum crystal up to nearly four inches long once.

Yeah - when you suddenly go all blurry and slowly come back into focus - I thought my eyesight was going! Drivin - just a thought - you were not putting on an outfit with matching gloves, were you?

I've never even heard of growing crystals on a string! sounds kinda cool. Drivin, My hands and shoes occasionally do this, It tends to be when my computer is running really really slow or when there is higher lag. It doesn't take much to make my SL lag though. I think everyone else is probably right in that it is your computer. Especially if others aren't seeing the same effect. Check your graphics card etc. Yes you probably did throw out some alright clothes, but at least you know you don't have to throw the costly stuff Morning everyone
