I'm very new here so I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere. I did search however nothing close came up. When I go to use the snapshot tool to try to take a shot of my avatar turned around to face me (so i get a front view) as soon as my cursor gets anywhere near the snapshot tool, she turns her face to the side! Grrr... I think it's that the AV follows the cursor a bit (is this right?) but what do I do to get a front face shot without her doing that? Thanks in advance for any kind help Lotus

Hiya Lotus You could try one of the free poses that I think you should have in your inventory. If there aren't any there, send me an IM in-world and I can send you a load. Aternatively, check 'Freeze Frame' in the snapshot panel. This freezes the image so you can swing your camera about without your AV moving. Takes a bit of playing to get the hang of but very useful if you're a photographoholic like me.

Hi Lotus and welcome to the forum You're right, your head follows where your mouse goes. To keep your head from moving, hold down your alt key and then click on your face. Use camera controls if needed. You can also zoom in closer by opressing ctrl+0 (number zero) and return to normal view by clicking ctrl+9 Happy snapping

Ahh Kelly... you're a gem! I get it now. I'm still grasping that I have to create myself first before things work as I assume they do I didn't realise I needed to get skin until some kind soul told me and took me shopping xoxo Lotus

I'm not sure what you can do to stop this, but yes, the av does follow the cursor as where to look. Im not sure but if you move the cursor to where you want her to look then pres Ctrl + Shift + S it will take a snapshot. That might work better for you Hope it helps. edit: I'm a slow typer!! lol but I didn't know about those either. definitely worth a try.

No probs actually Sal got the obvious solution I hadn't even thought of - alt + click on face. Gawd, I do that all the time!!! After a while I think you do these things without thinking!

You're all wery welcome Actually alt-click is useful in many situations. It help to focus your view on anything you want to take a picture off or zoom in on. I take pics at music gigs a lot and sometimes have to cam halfway across a venue to get a close-up of the musician. Alt-click and ctrl-0 are great for making my life a lot easier in that kind of situation.

Often a choice of solutions but I always use Claire's Cntrl/Shift/S for snapshots
