Operations is addressing several aspects of in world performance which have become sluggish over the past few minutes. Symptoms include:
Slow logins, Colorless avatars, High pending download counts in various regions. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you posted as the team works to resolve the traffic jam.
Dear Lindens, Forgive my bitching but, for the past couple of weeks SL has been...well...you know...SCREWED UP!!!
How is it a multimillion dollar company cant seem to be able to keep things running...
linden balances not showing.... teleports resulting in death.... perpetual ruthyness..... crashes..... purchases failing............. comm issues between SL and slexchange and onrezz.............. inventory not loading............... items not rezzing............. terrible lag.............
If I thought that it would help......I would recommend shutting the whole thing down and fixing it (is 2 weeks enough?)...even if it takes a couple of weeks....just fix the damn thing.....some of us (not naming any names) have a lot of money invested in this...is it the griefers hacking in? Just tell us! We PAY YOUR SALARIES! The old excuse of "communication issues between the colocation facilities," and the tried and true old standby, "our operations team is addressing the problem," is a bit worn out. What is the problem? ...did the low bid network switch poop out? Ever since windlight has rolled out and a new release candidate rollout weekly, the grid has been totally borked. So many of your customers that PAY YOUR SALARIES have asked (some nicely, some not so nicely) that you fix the grid instead of deploying new features, but do you listen? NO! You keep putting out new bells and whistles that continue to break. A perfect example....Voice. I dont use it and never will. 99% of the people here feel the same...but guess what...we still have it.
You Lindens have a very loyal, intelligent, vocal and extremely tolerant customer base here. We love this platform and only want it to be the best it can be. We also recognize that Secondlife needs new people joining to perpetuate the economy that some of us rely on. We also know that your working very hard patching this up to keep the grid open. Which we appreciate dearly because without this we would all be scattered about in faceless chat rooms of various online games like POGO and YAHOO. Please dont misunderstand the purpose of this post....I am totally frustrated with the performance of my beloved SL. No I dont want to leave and go somewhere else. That thought has never even entered my mind. I just want to log on..do a bit of shopping...a bit of building...and a bit of dancing with my friends and enjoying the BEST THING ON THE INTERNET SINCE SLICED BREAD.
Rant over...my appologies

Welcome to the forum Chocolate Great name btw! Sorry to hear about your problems, I think you'll find the Lindens don't actually read these forums though. Don't know if it's any help, but I solved my permaruth state just now by changing to test female and then slowly but surely adding my own self again. Can't offer much help on the other issues. Sorry.

Not going to happen Chocolate.
Be advised:
LL does not care!!! As long as they are getting the money from the paying customers and are able to flood SL with non paying roving pairs of eyeballs, they are happy.

Sooz They do care, and you just stated why. Noone will pay if they dont keep it working They just have limited resources and time to deal with the problems of every single resident. For example, some people might be having all the mentioned problems.. I'm just fine, which is unusual... who says its always LL?

I loooove the name. But, yeah, Lindens don't read these forums more than once in a blue moon...it makes them emo or something.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

They're still running around high on all the praise from residents who were seduced by a few puffy new clouds to care about silly things like grid operation . To be all fair though, even your own in-world SL experience (discounting all problems such as viewer, puter, ISP, etc) is going to vary wildly from other people's. Other than having to wait a few minutes to log on one time last week, SL has been glitch and problem free for me for weeks now for instance (doesn't mean you're not truly having problems, just that it's not everyone). If search isn't working that's usually a good indicator that there might be a wide grid problem (although it could be local to the sim too, but then you have indicators of that) and then everyone is really suffering the same problems; if it is working then the problems you're running into are very likely caused by the specific sim you're on, or the colocation (in which case all SF or all Dallas sims will give you the same problems).
