I know this question will appear dumb to many, but I thought I only needed to choose a region name for my new island. What is the "estate name," and what will I use that for? Where will that name appear?

The estate name is an administrative thing, in case you have more than one sim. When you have two or more sims under one estate, you can administer them easily from one sim. That name does not appear anywhere in SL except on that window.

The estate name is the name for your Estate. hold on that sounds wrong.

Ok imagine you had four islands, they could all belong to the same estate, but each island would have a different name. Your estate managers could have the same powers on all four islands. Anyone banned from the estate wouldn't be able to access any of the four islands.

Did that make any sense?

Thank you, Steve! I'm wanting to hit the submit button, but fear I'll be stuck with something I chose incorrectly.

So I could just call it "Alpha" in anticipation of "Beta, Gamma, etc." ?

Ah! I see -- so I had it backwards! The estate name needs to be all encompassing, like maybe just my own name, and then each island needs to be unique.

I think I get it now -- thanks for the super-fast help everyone!!
