Hi I just updated my laptop and got a new one today, so i can see the detail a lot better, but now when i turn on and set the slider up anyway past medium settings all the avatars are see through  O is it something to do with the draw distance at all ?? any help would be good Thnaks in advance Kef

See through? Is it possible you accidently activated wireframe? I did that the other day with an accidental key stroke.
ohh.. except wire frame makes everything wireframe, not just avatars.
nevermind...

There was a bug with ATI cards and antialiasing that could cause a problem like this, check http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5948 and see if it matches your problem. (real fix was to be an update from ATI, quick fix was to turn off AA).
