A group I created was cancelled due to lack of membership (I received the official notice). The group name returns nothing when searched. When I try to create the group I get the "name is taken" message. Can I re-create the group with the same name?

As far as I know there is no way to do this.. so you have to get a new name.

Inactive groups still exist in the database even though you can't use them. So, they won't let you have a new one with the same name. The reason they give is that reactivating would be a manual database operation they don't want to do often.

Just use the same name with a asterik in front or behind it - or some other symbol next to it.
