In groups I am member of often a discussion starts about people copying there stuff using copybot or something else.

Offcourse this is a bad thing simple as that. Creators work hard on things they create and put for sale, offcourse its depressing for them to see it for sale a fraction of what its worth or hear from others hey ive seen your stuff as freebie or for sale for like 10 lindens.
What can you do against it, well you can put in your store some safety, I have heard of a few things that can check and ban someone who is copying your things however does it help.

Here is the thing. No it does not help really because if you sold something it can be copyed anyway. Even if the buyer of your item has all good intentions. An Example : at my sim I have all my trees and plants from hearts garden for terraforming. what if someone comes to my sim and copy it while I am not there. Offcourse I dont want that to happen but what if it does. I as buyer from hearts have the right intention with there products I buy it to have a nice garden at my house and nothing else, But still its copied and hearts is damage by a copyer who they coudl not stop themself.

Also I like to point out as a honest consumer the anti copy messures creator use dont make me all that happy as there customer. Offcourse I understand there reasons but my shopping experiance get worse by it also.

To point out I really dont like to get a mark 3 antcopybot message when I teleport into a store. But thats only a minor irritation. I use to like having mod rights on things like hair and shoes to adjust it to my own shape to my satisfation. Now I have to use a script wich does a good job but not entirely. I cant edit linked parts on hair no more to adjust just that one prim that was in the way for example. Also something that I experianced myself lately was that I was in a hairstore. And in hairstores they often sell packs of a model of hair. I wanted to know what I was going to buy so I edit it to see whats in the box befor I buy it. But that could be looked as if i was copying it. Thank god the creator was reasonable and believed my intentions where genuine. However such things dont make shopping as fun as it use to be.

An other point I like to make is offcourse people put at there store protections against copying. Thats only logical but how much scripts does that require? How much lag does it case to me the honest shopper? My point those copiers do not only couse damage to the honest hard working creators but also decrease the shopping experiance of there honest customers. Or what I heard in groups to set your sim to adult. well you can do that but keep in mind not all your customers are age verified it will I think for sure decrease your sales, and whats to stop a copyer to use somenone elses id number they find on the net to age verify?.

I am totally againt copying, I create some things myself so I totally understand how depressing it is for creators to been a vistem of a copyer.

Myself I really dont understand the reason for it , does it really make you rich , I doubt that. And why do it? Myself when I wanted a mall did I start copying, no. I just search inworld and on xstreet for good affiliate deals. And there many of good creators that offer that so you can make a mall with descent products without even having to copy a single thing.

Also as creator I am not a shame to say I dont know everything there are things I still have not yet learned mainly because of a busy rl life. But do I need to copy for it, no because on xsteet or inworld there many good creators that offers scripts , sculpties and much more for sale full perm for me to use in my builds. But maybe I just have a little thing thats in the way that a copyer dont have. I mean a conscience.

Not only because of the damage to the creators of copyer does but also because of the service a real creator gives is the reason I never buy something that I think could be a copy. I always check the creators profile often with a copy the creators profile is empty. I do think this is the only real defence a creator has against the copys around in sl. I give you service, I give you updates. that is the reason I buy from you and not from a copyer.

But the true sad thing about it all is that I have seem many messages from people that use to enjoy to create things and have there own shop, a thing they worked hard for and you could say is there baby now no more create things because there so sick of there stuff been copied. I do hope they pick it up again and dont let a copyer spoil there fun in making things that enrich sl.

Those are my views about it all I love to hear your views as well.

Yes you can. Most resize scripts have an option, "This prim" or "All Prims". It can take some careful selecting, but you can usually select just the prim you want to modify.

Having said that, I agree with you...I hate the resize scripts. They cause lag if not deleted when you are done editing the item, and they are awkward to use.

well its not the scripts i really hate , i understand there need now since it makes it possible to resize without having mod and therefor makes it harder to copy , its the reason they are needed its what i hate more

Actually, not really. You might be able to uniformly enlarge or shrink a certain prim, but objects containing these scripts are always nomod. That means you cannot move or reorient said piece within the linkset. The "this prim" option is nearly useless without the ability to realign the newly sized piece.
