I have never used that option in my own groups personally one would assume it goes to creator of the group or to those you're sharing contributions with if it's working properly within 24 hours of a sale of land, etc.

These fees are shared among the people in the group who have Pay group liabilites & recieve group dividends checked in the accounting area of allowed abilities. The owner of a group automatically has this checked. You can see under the Land & L$ tab what the current group financial liabilities are. Monies are usually distributed after 24 hours.

nobody gets the money on his/her/their balances... it's put into the group deposit, for paying , parcel search costs. (so it lowers the cost per individual who needs to pay for the search cost)
Unless the group owned land is sold, then the remaining group deposit is payed out to the individuals who normally pay for the search cost. |

To clarify this:
There is a group role permission called "Pay Liabilities". It is, by default, checked for the Owner and Everyone roles. This means that unless you change the default settings for that permission, EVERYONE in the group gets an even split of all group profits, and everyone in the group pays an even split of all group liabilities. Here's how that works, with default settings. All payments to group members get processed about 24 hours after the sale. All billing of liabilities is immediate. : If there are 30 people in the group, and it has a L$300 entry fee to join the group, then when member 31 joins, everyone in the group gets L$10, about 24 hours later. If there are 30 members in the group, and the group has a parcel of group DEEDED land that has "Show in search > Places" checked, then everyone in the group pays L$1 per week for that listing. If there are 30 members in the group, and someone sells the group-owned parcel for L$3,000, everyone in the group gets L$100. If someone pays money to a group-owned object, such as a "donation box", the profit is split evenly among all group members who have the "Pay Liabilities" role checked for a role that they are in. Each person that gets paid only gets one "share" of these splits, no matter how many group roles they are in that has the "Pay Liabilities" role checked. You would not, for example, get three shares if you were the owner, a group officer, and in the Everyone role, with the "Pay Liabilities" permission checked in all three roles. --- In most cases, what you really WANT is for the "Pay Liabilities" role to be checked ONLY for the group's owner, or for group officers. Having it checked for the EVERYONE role ticks people off when they see a tiny drain on their account that they can't understand (because of a search listing), or causes the group's owner to lose a bundle of cash when they sell the group's land, and only get a fraction of the sale price back to themselves. Also, make sure that ONLY the owner and absolutely trusted officers (like the owner's own alts) have the group role checked for being able to sell or abandon group-owned land. _____________________

Thanks Ceera! I had no idea on that count either, so that was incredibly helpful.
