Well, with Desmond's Devil's Dictionary being such fun, I shall politely consider reviving the first ever thread I posted on the SL forums (I hope I don't get into trouble for doing this, but it wasn't locked or anything).. the SL Meaning of Liff. That is, take a place name and give it an amusing redefinition. Here are a few starters from the old thread (some of these were contributed by other people, but I won't name them here in case they don't want to be)
Dore (noun): The curiously satisfied-yet-regretful feeling you get after the newbie you've been helping for your whole SL session leaves satisfied and overjoyed with the potential of the game, and you reach for the close button for bedtime remembering the building project that you were sure you could finish tonight a couple of hours ago.
Ambulyx (noun): The condition suffered by new avatars causing them to walk in the way they do in lagged zones without an AO.
Eventide (noun): The sudden wash of colour that appears on your screen when your client finally starts to load textures properly.
Morris (verb): To be displaced into a neighbouring sim, by somone crashing the build-area you were working in. "Don't touch that, unless you want to morris the lot of us."
Bonifacio (noun): A profound sense of embarassment felt when trying to put a good face on a thing or situation that currently appears to be other than described. "Hi, welcome to SL! (fart!) ($%*@#$$ you $$$hole!)(fart)(Hey, look! Lesbian BSDM ninjapirategoth vampire nudists!)(fartfartfart)(headshot!) It can be...uh...really cool here. (fart)(badgersbadgersbadgers)(I am so buzzed) No, we don't allow teens on the main grid. Where did you get that idea? (headshot!)(d00d! I'm only 13 heh)(fart)
Rosieri (adj): the happy, new-beginnings feeling you get when you open your new shop. "I'm just all Rosieri about it!"
Achemon (noun): The pain experienced in your RL body when you've spent too long in-world.
Epirrhoe (noun): The longest journey possible round sim coastlines in a boat.
Barnett's Gap (noun): The effect of making your linden hair too close to the head.
