I am a newbie, just three weeks old, but I have been making an effore to learn Second Life, and while there are many things I do not know, I thought I would take advantage of being able to remember things I had problems with, to help those that might come after me. I am trying to get a newspaper going, called TulsaHighTech, and I have posted at http://tulsahightech.com/sl.zip a zip file with some PDFs of articles I plan to run, if I can get the paper off the ground. Could some of you take a look at the articles, and tell me if I got anything wrong, or if there is anything I should add. The first is on Orientation Island. The second has two articles, one on getting help, and one on Free Stuff. And the last is on Money. They have a lot of screen captures, many of which will be too small to see much, but if we get the paper gping, which each article comes out there will also be a web version where the screen captures will be very readable.

Might start by correcting your link.

Just read them, they're pretty good! You've got a few typos in there, and rather than squishing everything into one page of 3 or 4 columns, I might spread stuff out a little to 2 or 3 pages. Other than that, it's friendly and informative and a damned sight easier to read than the Knowledge Base. Good job.

Link fixed
If anyone notes a typo let me know what and where
How would you recommend spreading them out to two or three pages. I could take more space by making the pictures bigger, but then the text would be even more lost in the pictures. Yet I felt the pictures were all necessary.

Seems a shame that this thread is dropping off the radar so quickly. I think it's way cool that you've made the effort to create this stuff. As Oryx said, it's a lot more user friendly than the Knowledge Base material and something that I think is needed. Yes there are typos but I don't have time to proof read it all now. By the way, reading 'backwards' (starting at the end and reading each word as you go back) is good for proofing... you see the words individually rather than reading the piece. Yeah this could be the foundation for something really good. Keep up the work and well done so far!

From: Kelly Kuiper Seems a shame that this thread is dropping off the radar so quickly. It wouldn't if we made it the Friday Thread. We just got to be careful nobody mentions phone weasels, VAT, ageplay, copybot or voice ..... oh .. Rats!

I like this DJ. I think it is in a good style and very informative.
Couldn't we just keep bumping the thread up?
