I'm trying to build (among numerous other things - see various other threads) a very simple elevator. Just a simple plate to stand on which at the click of a mouse button rises to a pre-determined height. I have a elevator script which I've applied but nothing happens..no instructions..no 'touch' ability..zippo. I can buy a ready made elaborate elevator but it only rises to a set height (set by the designer) which does not match my required height..so therefor not a lot of use.

Anyone ever built an elevator..?

is the elevator chat activated? i recently installed a simple elevator using some free elevator script i found in my inventory. it said that you need to put it where it starts and type "align". it came installed with "first" and "second". "first" is where you align it <0,0,0>. you type your own numbers into the script to tell it where "second" is( like <0,0,10.0>;). also, you can change "first" and "second" to whatever you want. for instance, i use "bunker" and gallery".

one strange thing, i can never get the thing to sit at the level i want it to be. that's because it's a physical object and can sense weight on it. still, for free, it's pretty cool. if you want the script that i'm using, im me inworld, and i'll send it your way. i'll also show you the one i installed, if you'd like to see it.

I tried activating it through 'chat', even tried using the /88 method, it had no reaction at all. This script came with about 100 or so others..most you just drag them onto the object and away they go..this one seems to do nothing. I tried 'align' and 'second'..no joy.
It may of course just be a dud script.
