OK I have a security orb and about 4 boxes now in space. Here is what I did:

I was moving the orb from my basement to my living room. Lets say the org was at 1.9100000, I wanted to move it to 21.9100000 but instead never replaced the decimal point so it went to 219100000.

I thought sitting on the box and going to that level would let me see and take it back but I fall off at about 4000m (ouch!). What can I do?

One would guess you'd get one of those "your object has been returned because it went offworld" notices perhaps after a day - but I've never had that happen so i am not sure what the result is. Have you checked your lost and found folder?

This happened to me once (not with a security orb) and I found it at about 700m. This was even *after* the build height was raised a few months back. Anyway wherever it was, it wasn't nearly as high as I thought. If you can remember exactly where it was x and Y and get a flight feather you may yet find it -- especially if it's big enough to see from a distance.

Assuming you were moving it on the z axis, the object will be at 4096m (the current build limit altitude.)

Or if you were using an older SL client, the object may have stopped at 768 Meters Z-axis, the old build height limit.

If you set the object's altitude to 219100000, then the object must be at 4096m. Objects cannot be rezzed or sent to altitudes greater than 4096m. So rezz a cube as close to the spot your object was last time you saw it, sit on it then set it to 4096m, and off you go. Have a good look around and your object should be there.

Happy hunting..Perre..:)

If you are in private sim have your estate owner find it under the scripts list and return it to you..

.d

I don't know if you can do that in a mainland sim

You can also sit on a box and edit the box to 4096 if you don't feel like flying.
