I just searched Land for Sale for the first time in a few months (Since the last time I paid 21 L per meter for Land which is now worth less than 20% of that)

Really though in all seriousnessnessness

I think land is too expensive and SL needs more mainland Sims so that the price can come down even more. Maybe they can raise monthly Tier too to make sure that more people will dump their stuff in a series of Fire Sales.

What does it take a girl to get noticed by a Landbot?
11-13-2008 09:54
I swear. I saw somewhere in the forums that if you wanted to get rid of your land quickly to set it at $3.50 a meter2 so a landbot would swoop in. Well I did that, with my small plot, and even made it juicier at $3.49 m2 and nothing.

Nada. Zip.

For two days, it sat there and collected crickets. So have all the landbots quit? Or do I need to go even cheaper? Gracious me! I will simply abandon it to LL if it's less than $2. And then I'll pack my AV and skedaddle. : (

So so sad.

L$3.50 / m may have been valid at one time but the landbots aren't fixed on a given price, they are looking for deals below whatever the current price is.

Go into the search function, land sales, and dial up the land listing for similar land (i.e. mainland, pg or mature, the size, etc) and see what that sort of land is selling for.

If you want to sell fast, set it for 0.1 or 0.2 L$/m lower than the lowest you see there. That should get the bots' attention.

That is actually down a little from the first of the week. It had run 2.3 for a long time, ticked up to 2.6 for a couple days, and looks like it is dropping again. But hey, the economy in SL is doing great.

More and more land for sale every day. The map's turning completely yellow! But hey, according to the stats thread only 14% of SL is mainland these days so I guess it's not high on LL's list of things to be concerned about.

Overall land prices are falling but annoyingly the land I want to buy is still crazily overpriced. Are there a load of people out there happy to keep paying tier on land they don't want or use anymore for the months they're waiting to sell at the price they want? I guess there must be.

Min (can afford the tier just not the purchase price *grumble*)

I was simply parroting the "everything is roses and sunbeams" line taken by Zee Linden. Surely a Linden wouldn't blow smoke?

The land that's falling in price is trash land. If you have a nice build, people want crazy prices for land next to you, and not just because they want to sell it to you. There's been several parcels in Noonkkot where the auction price went up past $20/m, and the buyers are just building houses on them because they liked the sim.

That's the reward for a nice build... you can't afford to expand it. :(

There is also trash land that's crazily overpriced and stays for sale. 10,000L for a 512m parcel, in a place where it took ages for a 512 to sell for ~1500L, for instance.

I know some of that is people with a premium account and one 512m parcel, so they don't care about tier. The one listed at L$30,000 in Noonkkot is like that.
