When in world, I attach/wear a shirt . . . My whole avatar either turns the color of the shirt or the bottom part of my avatar turns ALL white. I take the shirt off, everything turns back to normal.
System specs: CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (Unknown model) (3192 MHz) Memory: 3071 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce 8800 GT/PCI/SSE2 OpenGL Version: 2.1.2
Before I get any of the obvious suggestions (not that I don't want them, I may have overlooked SOMETHING), I have a VERY technical background and have done ALL the normal stuff. Latest video drivers, and then went back to the 175 version, cleared cache, blah blah blah . . . so don't be afraid to be technical. I have even uninstalled, cleaned the registery of ANYTHING to do with SL and then reinstalled SL. Both clients, the RC and the non RC releases.
If you want any more details, let me know and thanks for all your help in advance.
PD

You've tried turning off palletized textures, right?

From: Dekka Raymaker Don't wear the shirt, I win!!! Good one but it's more than just one shirt, it's multiple items. I already thought about that but the more things I was putting on to test this issue, the more things I found that were causing the same thing.

From: Qie Niangao You've tried turning off palletized textures, right? O.K. Maybe I wasn't clear on my technical abilities. While I am a WIZ at any kind of OS or hardware issues, software is NOT my strong point Where would I turn off the palletized textures and what other things will changing that setting do?

uninstall the nvidia drivers trough the uninstaller and delete the folder reboot (you get the default bigass resolution) install 175.19 reboot edit prefs to what you want
sounds more like you installed over the latest drivers and not a clean install

From: Qie Niangao You've tried turning off palletized textures, right? I found it and it seems to have worked so far, let me try another few items on and I'll get right back to you.

You don't need to reinstall your drivers. Go to the Advanced Menu, Ctrl+Alt+D if you don't see it at the top.
Then go to Rendering > Features and turn OFF Palletized Textures.
Now Rebake your textures by pressing Ctrl+Alt+R
Should solve your problem
You will need to turn off Palletized Textures each time you log in since it isn't a sticky option. It will be removed entirely in the next viewer release I believe.

Ctrl + Alt + F7 will turn off your palletized textures ... if you hit Ctrl + Alt + D that will bring up your advanced menu then you go down to Rendering --> Features --> palletized textures ... you can also turn it off from there .... then rebake .. Ctrl + Alt + R or listen to what the above posted stated about the video drivers. I have had this same issue and LL told me they would be working on solving the problem on their end. But I am sure we have all heard that before.
