A few days ago, I deleted a house from my building platform and got 51 prims worth of ghost prims. (Can't walk through them, can't select or delete them, not transparent - just not there, except on the About Land window.)
Today I submitted a support ticket asking for a sim restart and got a Final Resolution saying the sim had been restarted and all should be well.
I logged back in, and the ghost prims are still there, showing in my prim count, taking up invisible space. To make sure, I hopped around taking up all my stuff (glad it's just a 1024 lot!) and then used the About Land window to return everything. The parcel is absolutely bare and still shows 51 prims in use. I returned everything on the land again, to make sure - no change.
Could this be due to the prims having been above the 768m ceiling? Is a restart just not going to affect them? If not, what will?
(The prims were originally Selected/Sat on, but I dilly-dallied over submitting the ticket, figuring the Lindens would add new code and restart sims soon enough anyway. Now they are listed as Set to Group or some such.)
I guess my next step is to figure out how to reopen the ticket and report that the stupid things are still there...

From: Morgaine Christensen I had this happen as well. Had to have the sim restarted about 3 times before the issues was taken care of. Thanks, Morgaine! Good to know I'm not alone. I reopened the ticket yesterday afternoon. This morning I had an email that they were gone for sure now. Logged in and they were - yay! Now to put back my sky platform before my partner tries to log in on it...

definitely not alone, my sl partner had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago, took us ages to work out why we could not walk into a bay window area of a new house he was building of course I might have worked out the problem quicker if he mentioned the fact he had deleted a prim just prior to the problem occurring

So the sim was restarted and the ghost prims disappeared. Yay! But wait - there's more.
Last night one of my neighbors returned something named "Object" to my inventory. I had no idea what had escaped onto his land, but I sent him a quick IM thanking him for rounding up my "stray prim" for me. This morning it finally appeared in my Lost and Found folder, and I rezzed it.
Stray prim, my foot! It was that @$#$#@ house - all 51 prims of it! So now I'm sure he thinks I'm a nut - what a way to meet the neighbors...
