Joking aside, can anyone tell me why I should invest ANY money in SL?

The asset servers seem to be up and down like a brides nighty so to speak and given they are the heart of the system, everything is affected.

It by far not the first time, even for my relatively short time in SL, and each time its reported on the blog its broken/resolved/broken/resolved on and on.

If I did this in RL I'd be out of the door by now.

I was considering some land, get to build some stuff, maybe sell some, more for the enjoyment than any profit, but as far as I can see this could go on for months.

..... and now they plan to change the physics engine grid wide!

If I'm being silly and this is normal tell me......

It's one of those things about SL that you either come to live with, or quit over. It's been this way for a long time.

I can live with problems - nothing is perfect - but this seems to be every other day.

The frustration factor for anyone already spending serious time here must be enormous.

Maybe I should forget building and have an open air stress counselling service instead. :-)

No, you aren't being silly. For people like me, who have very limited time to spend in world, it makes actually creating anything almost impossible. Pair that with finding out you've created something really nice with ripped textures (ugh) and checking your shop only to find that 1/3 of your products have set themselves from for sale to not for sale, and spending what short time you have in world fixing all the messed up transactions from the last asset server melt down...

Well, you're not silly at all.

Well for one thing, they could use the money to buy new asset servers... :D

Seriously though, the havoc4 stuff should go a long way towards increasing overall inworld stability. Nothing to do with the asset servers of course, or a multitude of other problems, but havoc4 is more about stability than new shineys.
