Hi!

So, I've made about 100 different skies and 12 different day cycles.. Torley said you can share files, but I can't find if he said how... any help?

I want to upload them for people here on the forums. maybe sell some of my better ones...

And is it even possible to share a whole day cycle? Thats one of my best things, because it solves the washout at noon and such...

Anyone know?

Windlight I mean of course.. and I know that Torley said eventually they will be sharable in game most likely, but that doesnt help people now.

One might want to post technical questions in the appropriate forums instead of this unmoderated chat room. That's not a dig about where you posted, it's a dig at the current state of the forum. I just bumped someone else's help request that was down on the third page, I think, and it's been pushed back without any answers.

the xml files in C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\app_settings\windlight\skies are the skies.

let’s say you made a sky called “iceplasma”. it would be stored as C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\app_settings\windlight\skies\iceplasma.xml

make the file available to whomever. such as by emailing it or putting it on a website.

they just save it to the appropriate directory.

for instance save this file:
http:\\www.annotoole.com\iceplasma.xml

to C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\app_settings\windlight\skies\iceplasma.xml

next time you start the windlight viewer the iceplasma sky should now be on your list of saved skies.

water files are in C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\app_settings\windlight\water and day cycle files are in C:\Program Files\SecondLifeWindLight\app_settings\windlight\days and they are just xml files so have fun sharing.

Thankies, Suezanne.. and yeah.. the forum is kinda bad atm, but I have hope! So.. I'll post here lol..

Also, I didn't even consider technical forum.. I always think of that as like.. problems because of my computer or connectoin or w/e lol.. not really that.. anyways thanks again!

ETA:: Oh cool, so I can share my day cycles! YAY!

Now I can upload whole sets at once.. A sky set, with the appropriate day cycle, and the water settings to compliment.. awesome!

Most of mine are for beauty, not eccentricity.. for snapshots and whatnot. My most commonly used one is a sunset I made.. ooks wonderful to me, and the ambient light is enough to make skins look like they fit right lol... I love it

I play with the sky settings constantly.. I've made presets for specific places even...

One of the most fun to make was a recreation of one of the skies and waters in the first Spyro game.. I think I did it well.. it's purple and stuff lol
