Payment problem (from Britain)

My tier payment was due today but my account shows it's in the red. I checked with credit card company who said they've had no record of LL requesting payment yet. I'd always assumed payment was automated and instantaneous, as long as the funds were available.

Is it normal for there to be a time lag between payment becoming due and LL collecting? I thought I'd ask here before getting on to support - in case I don't need to do so.

I've never seen my account in the red, and the tier is taken from my existing funds automatically. It could be to do with them preparing for the new VAT rate. I'd go straight to Support if I saw mine in the red.

I'd wait one day before doing anything. I've seen my account go red one day and then the next day the charge came through.

But do keep watching. If it doesn't clear in a day, contact Billing support. One time my US$ balance went red and stayed that way: my credit card company decided that LL was a bunch of deadbeats, and I had to convince them to pay the bill anyway.

I've had red before because my CC company have sometimes blocked payment because it's to an overseas company, needing a phone call from me to clear it. But this time, as I say, they say LL hasn't attempted to collect the money.

Maybe as a Thanksgiving Day present they are delaying collecting it until next week so that you pay less because of the VAT rate change.

I'd start a live chat session. The same thing happened to me two months ago, and it was an oversight by Linden Lab. Live chat got it sorted out quickly.

My account goes into the red every time lately but only for an hour or two then it gets billed.

Conifer try re-entering your payment details, that sometimes gives the systems a push.

My account does the same. Goes red for a few hours then they charge my card.

I went to support, who were very helpful. The problem is sorted now - the error was mine.
