Can copy/mod be gifted?

Hi, Just got an email from a punter who says he would like to buy some stuff from me for his girlfriend.All my gear is mod/copy no transfer.He asked me if he can gift it to his girlfriend but frankly I have no idea as I have not a clue how the gifting process works. Can any of you guys fill me in ,Cheers.

This is stuff that you build and sell?

If so, you can have him pay you for the product then you send a copy to his girlfriend.

Once you give him something that's no-transfer, it's his forever - he can't even give it back to you.

If you are the creator, he would need to pay you and have you send it to his girlfriend. I believe that is what he is asking you.

Thanks for the replies all, It is stuff I made and also is on SLX and onrez. Why can he gift it from there and not directly,or is that just the way permissions work?

He can send it as a gift from there because SLX and OnRez do just what you would do if he paid you directly...they get the name of the intended recipient and send it to them, not to the person who paid for it.

Some people have in-world gift vendors for no trans items too, but that's more prims and scripty stuff to mess with for the seller.

Hippo has a gifting function built into their vendors (for future reference) and like mentioned previously -- the services of the Exchange and Onrez are always an option. And, as a third option, there are several gift card purveyors *ahem* who have a variety of options also.

I do that often, putting the gift products in a folder labled "Gift from avatar's name".
