Yesturday I was in an IM and the other person added a third person, this was a new thing to me.
I have been searching Linden web site to find out how this is done, but I failed. Can anyone piont me to the instructions, or maybe tell me how here.
In past when more than 2 chatting have had to use Chat and all the world hear, but this 3 way, or I guess more, is a great thing.
Thanks
Love, June

Go to your friends list, hold down CTRL and click on all the names you want the group IM with - you will see them all highlight together, then select IM/Call :)

As Gomez said.
This will put you in a conference IM.
I would suggest that if you are already talking to someone in IM, you could ask them whether they would mind if you ad someone else to the conversation though.
Polite thing to do :)

Thanks, just one piont I do not think the 3rd. person was a friend, not of mine anyway, the first person is a friend.
I think at first my friend was in an IM seperate with both of us.

You can also make a folder for people you are likely to have conference calls with, using their calling cards.

someone mentioned to me that the group communication might not work so well in a high lag area. Is this true? Thinking of using it to coordinate performance group.

Another point: I don't think the Nicholaz viewer supports conference calling.

I have used the Nicholaz viewer for conference IMs frequently.

Have a question... if you are talking with a friend and you want to add some other friends, you have to start a conference or can you add them in the same window? Like msn does, I mean...
